Pickleball Info
Busy Court Rules: The Paddle Holder System
When all courts are full and other players are waiting, everyone must follow the Paddle Holder System to ensure fair play.
General Rules
Game Limit: Play to 11 points (win by 1 point).
No Drilling: Practice and drilling are strictly prohibited when courts are full.
How it Works
Stack Paddles: Waiting players place their paddles on the next open paddle rack.
Move the Marker: Waiting players slide the “NEXT UP” magnet to the next rack so everyone knows who plays next.
Exit the Court: When a game finishes, players must shout “OPEN COURT” and immediately exit so the next group can take over.
Warm Up & Play: New players get a maximum 5-minute warm-up period before starting their game.
This process repeats continuously as long as players are waiting.

Open Daily: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
General Court Policies
Priority: Events scheduled by the Orem Recreation Department have priority over open play.
Approved Use: Courts are strictly for pickleball play only. All instruction, classes, leagues, tournaments, and reservations must be approved through the Orem Recreation Department.
Liability: Use the courts at your own risk.
Waiting & Rotation Rules
When other players are waiting, games are limited to one game to 11 points per group.
To save your place in line, place your paddle in the paddle racks located in the walkway between the north and south courts.

Pets
Rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles, etc.

Alcoholic beverages, smoking, tobacco, and vaping (prohibited in all city parks)
Player & Safety Requirements
Footwear: Players must wear non-marking athletic shoes.
Supervision: Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Hillcrest Park features 12 outdoor pickleball courts available for public enjoyment.
Reservable Courts: 6 of our courts can be reserved in advance to guarantee your playtime.
Rate: $10 per hour.
Booking Window: Reservations can be made up to one week (7 days) in advance.
How to Book Your Court: A Step-by-Step Guide
We use the CourtReserve platform for all bookings. You can use it on a desktop browser or download the mobile app. If you are new to the platform, follow these straightforward steps:
PHASE 1: Set Up Your Account
Go to CourtReserve: Open your browser and head to courtreserve.com.
Log In or Create an Account: Click the Login button. If you don’t have an account yet, click “Don’t have an account?” at the bottom right (located under the “Login with Google” option).
Join the Club: In the “I’m a Player” section, click “Find or Join a Club.”
Search for Orem: In the search bar, type Orem Rec Center.
Select the Club: Look for the club featuring the pickleball paddle logo named “Orem Recreation Pickleball” and click the green “Create Account” button.
Enter Your Info: Fill out your personal details and click the blue “Create Account” button.
Finalize: On the next page, click “Review & Finalize,” then click “Join Membership.” Your account is now active!
PHASE 2: Booking & Payment
Find a Time: Go to the calendar and navigate to your desired date (Remember: bookings open exactly one week in advance).
White blocks are available.
Gray blocks are already reserved.
Book It: Click on your preferred time slot, fill in the required details (only one name is needed for your group), and click Save.
Pay and Confirm: Complete your payment details and click Save again. Your reservation is confirmed!

Facility Pricing/Time Blocks
The Hillcrest Park Center is available for private rentals exclusively on these days and times:
Available Days: Fridays and Saturdays only.
Rental Time Block: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Note: Rental requests for any other day will be declined.
Important Scheduling Requirement
Please submit your rental request at least two weeks prior to your desired event date. This allows our team adequate time to schedule and prepare for your event. Requests submitted the week of the event will be declined.
Rental Rate
The hourly rate for facility rental is: $125 per hour
Key Event Details
Maximum Capacity: The facility has a maximum capacity of 300 people. If your planned attendance exceeds this number, please ensure the estimated headcount is clearly stated on your Reservation Request Form.
Seating & Setup: Limited tables and chairs are available within the facility (located primarily in the gameroom and gymnasium areas). Please coordinate with the Hillcrest Park Center Coordinator to plan your seating and determine the best approach, whether utilizing existing seating or arranging a third-party table/chair rental.
Food Policy
Event Food Guidelines
To maintain facility standards, please note that the Hillcrest Park Center does NOT provide access to a kitchen, warming trays, refrigerators, or freezers for private events.
Therefore, we require that all food brought in for your rental is pre-made or catered by a third party.
Items NOT Permitted in Rental Areas:
For safety and policy reasons, the following are strictly prohibited:
Warming Trays (Any trays requiring ignition or external heat source)
On-Site Food Preparation or Cooking
On-Site Concessions Option
Concessions are available for your event. If you are interested in adding Hillcrest Park Center concessions to your booking, please specify this option on your submission form.
Rental Rules
The following rules apply to all rentals and must be followed:
Cleanliness: Renters must pick up all trash and ensure the facility is returned to its original condition before departure.
Commercial Use: Prepaid or postpaid classes, training, and workshops are not permitted to be held in the facility.
Sporting Event Insurance: A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required for any organized sporting event, tournament, or athletic league rental.
Prohibited Substances: Alcohol, vapes, E-Cigs, and cigarettes are strictly prohibited on the premises.
Prohibited Items: Bouncy houses, inflatables, glitter, confetti, and similar items are not allowed.
Pets: No pets are allowed inside the facility.
Overnight Stays: Overnight rentals are not permitted.
